About me

Although I started working in clay in 1981 during college, I pursued it sporadically as a career. I founded my first clay business in 1985 (motto: ‘Insist on Jefware’) and closed shop in 1986. Thereafter, I worked in other fields until 1992, when I started Sun Dagger Design, a business making ceramic lighting fixtures. After nearly a decade with that enterprise, I sold its designs to a competitor and once more left clay for a number of years. In late 2011, a deal on an old kiln sparked the relapse that has persisted uncured to the present.
